Plot:
After a bizarre night out, a woman wakes up in the morning to find that she’s been possessed by the ghost of a mysterious hitman who was murdered by the Mafia recently. After realizing that he’s not going away and can use her physical body as a form of revenge to strike back against the team that initially killed him, he takes her on a mission to take down the group of thugs to save him.

Review:

This was a generally fun effort, even with some problems. The fun storyline and sense of comedy throughout here is a fun touch, making for a strong sense of how their journey together helps to explore her escalating situation following the possession. This idea comes off far better than expected and makes for a wholly intriguing idea with her being controlled and directed by his sense of vengeance while letting him get a chance to manipulate some solid comedic touches, not just with the acclimation to being in her body but also interacting with her friends who are unaware of what's going on. That leaves this one feeling light and goofy in between the action scenes, which is a great touch to accentuate the storyline as it goes along, making for a fun time.

Within that, though, there’s not a whole lot of compelling action as they go about their mission. While starting off with a brutal gunfight and a few solid hand-to-hand fights that showcase the skillset she has now that the possession and control have taken place, beyond that, there’s not a whole lot of other full-throttle action in place here until the ending. Despite spending a large part of the film focused on getting revenge on the group that employed the assassin who killed him, it’s all quite reserved in favor of the interactions between her and her friends trying to make sense of everything, or other conversations trying to understand who’s taking out their men. It all leaves the pace a bit underwhelming at times, but being the main issue here doesn’t detract it too much from the overall presentation.

Overview: ***/5
A solid enough comedic action film, even with some flaws present, there’s enough to like here that it comes together fine in the end while still being let down enough by its few issues from what it could’ve been. Those with an interest in this type of material, who are curious about it, or are fans of the creative crew, will have the most to like here, while most others should heed caution.
